The Disney D23 expo is happening right now in Anaheim. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy couldn’t make it as she was hard at work on the Han Solo film so the Star Wars presentation was fronted by Disney Chairman Alan Horn. He confirmed The Last Jedi picks up exactly where The Force Awakens left off and that Luke Skywalker would talk in this film. He discussed Carrie Fisher’s death and its impact on the film and said fans will “really, really appreciate her performance in the film.
He brought out writer and director Rian Johnson and actors Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, Benicio del Toro and finally Mark Hamill. Everyone spoke briefly about working on the film and the presentation finished with a behind the scenes video of the new film.
